Thomson Sport has teamed up with The Family Holiday Association to form some great packages for you while raising money for a great cause. We are also offering you the chance to offset any money raised over £200 against your Marathon package meaning you have every reason to be part of the FHA marathon scheme.
About the Family Holiday Association
TUI UK & Ireland are proud to support the Family Holiday Association. The charity has been established for over 30 years and provides holidays and short breaks for children and their families who are living in poverty. The families are referred to us by welfare agents such as teachers and doctors and we also work with a number of well known charities such as Barnardo’s and the NSPCC. Often, the children are dealing with very difficult circumstances such as illness, abuse and bereavement. The Family Holiday Association believes that every child deserves a holiday and the long term benefits of a holiday are life changing.
How is the money spent?
By running for the Family Holiday Association, you will help provide families with either a short break or week stay in a seaside caravan park in the UK or Ireland. The break gives them chance to rest, recuperate and re-strengthen family bonds. For many children, this is their first ever family holiday and the first time they have ever seen the sea. How does it work?
Each runner taking part in the FHA scheme is requested to raise a minimum of £200 for this great cause. You will be given comprehensive guidance in developing a fundraising plan. If you wish, for every pound you raise over £200, you may have an equal amount in travel costs (up to a value of £295) refunded.
How do I get involved?
We would like to encourage all UK runners to support the charity by raising sponsorship money for either the full/half marathon or 10k run in Palma de Mallorca. To register your interest for the scheme, simply select the number of passengers you want to get involved during the booking process and the FHA will then send you an official fundraising pack to get you started!
